Castle Hill Cider
Castle Hill Cider is nestled on 600 beautiful acres in the historic Virginia countryside in Keswick, just outside of Charlottesville. The cidery, which opened its doors in 2011, resides on the land that belonged to the Castle Hill estate, which was built in 1764 and hosted seven U.S. presidents, along with many other luminaries, including dignitaries, explorers and artists. Castle Hill Cider blends time-honored traditions with modern techniques to bring you the finest orchard cider that Virginia has to offer. They draw out the best of each year’s harvest to create the most enjoyable high-quality ciders. Their world-class cider makers use time-tested and cutting-edge practices, working to renovate an 80-year-old orchard while collaborating with growers of prime apple varieties. Come relax at their beautiful historic property and enjoy our refreshing array of award-winning orchard ciders. Castle Hill Cider’s tasting room is open all year long and offers beautiful views and a comfortable place to enjoy our ciders in any season. They host a variety of events, including festivals and concerts, throughout the year on our gorgeous grounds. Don’t miss out! The Sunset Music Series is every other Thursday in April through August, come enjoy our ciders and our outdoor concerts. Cider Core is a relaxing yoga session held the first Sunday of each month. Horton Vineyards is considered by many to be one of the most innovative wineries in the United States. It has led the way in Virginia by searching out grape varietals that would flourish in the Old Dominion's climate and soil. Horton Vineyards is credited with introducing the Viognier grape to the state and bringing back the native grape varietal, Norton. The winery is located in Orange County, Virginia and was started in 1989 by Dennis and Sharon Horton along with long time business partner Joan Bieda. Horton Vineyards currently has sixty seven acres under vine with plantings from the Rhone Valley, Bordeaux, Madiran, Spain and Portugal.
Keswick Vineyards is a family owned and operated winery and vineyard located in the heart of Virginia wine country. Al & Cindy Schornberg chose the beautiful Edgewood Estate, a property rich with history dating back to 1727, for their dream vineyard after searching the country and recognizing its potential for producing world class wines. Specializing in producing small lots of high quality age-worthy wines, a minimalist approach is taken in the winery by winemaker Stephen Barnard, with the focus being on expressing the character of the vineyards in each bottle of wine. The family-friendly and pet-friendly tasting room is open from 9-5, 7 days a week (excluding Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day).

Merrie Mill Farm & Vineyard is a tasting room destination in Keswick, VA. Founded by Guy and Elizabeth Pelly, Merrie Mill reimagines the tasting room experience by marrying a devotion to warm, approachable hospitality with a weird, wonderful setting that delights and inspires.
The Tasting Room at Merrie Mill features two copper bars in a lofted interior, multiple terraces and lawns overlooking the vineyards. Reservations can be made for wine tastings and lovingly prepared food.
In addition to a welcoming, playful spirit as well as delicious wine, Merrie Mill has come to be known for its uniquely maximalist style and unexpected artwork. Designed by Jenn Grandchamp of Kemble Interiors, in collaboration with Elizabeth Pelly, the tasting room conceived as though an extension of the Pelly home, also on property, very personal in nature and high on design.
